Your basic resourse allocation:

The Luxon are a seafaring race by nature, so they set up fishing and effectively claimed control of the sea.

Now come the Kurzicks, they want some of the resources from the sea, but the Luxons don't like to share. The Luxon style of negotiating is, you bring your champions we bring ours, winner takes the resources, loser tries again later.

The Kurzicks don't understand, rather than send a couple of guys, they send an army. The Luxons see an army coming to the Negotiating Arena and get their own army and "BAM" longterm warfare.

The war is over a simple misunderstanding of negotiating tactics, which is really what most wars are over anyway.

Really? This is news to me...last I heard, wars were generally over things like religion, territorial control, oil, money, and things of that sort. I knew I should have listened to Mom when she told me to poke my head out of the cave once in a while...
